Fully waxed cartons differ from ordinary waxed cartons, for those ordinary cartons are typically waxed on only one side. The key difference lies in the treatment method. Fully waxed cartons are completely immersed in hot paraffin wax, can provide complete waterproof protection for both the interior and exterior layers, as well as the trimmings. This leads to the key feature of more durable and reliable structural strength, and can offer better protection in humid and water-rich environments, such as cold chain transportation and cold storage.

Main Materials and Treatment Process

The carton's base material is high-strength corrugated paper, available in various thicknesses and weights to meet varying load-bearing requirements. Typically, B, C, or E corrugated paper is sufficient. For those requiring even greater load-bearing capacity, BC or BE double corrugated paper can be selected.

Then, through a waxing process, molten paraffin or microcrystalline wax penetrates deeply into the fibers, forming a uniform, hydrophobic layer at the nanometer level with no dead corners. UV digital printing can be used on the surface of the carton to print brand logos and product information. Waxing does not affect display quality, ensuring clear images and text.

How does Fully Waxed Carton achieve full wax coverage?

We use a dual process: pre-waxing and post-waxing edge sealing. First, the entire cardboard surface is waxed. After folding and forming, a secondary wax spray is applied to the corners and seams. This two-step process completes 100% wax coverage, even covering difficult-to-wax areas like folding seams.

Will Fully Waxed Carton fail when used for ocean shipping?
