The wax layer on the waxed carton is uniform, with a thickness tolerance of ≤1μm. Previously, some basic waxed cartons might have areas of excessive wax thickness, resulting in uneven protection and costly waste. Yilida, however, uses food-grade paraffin or microcrystalline wax for impregnation, rigorously achieving a nano-level hydrophobic layer. This improves efficiency by 40% compared to traditional dipping processes, enhances the wax layer's adhesion by 30%, and makes it less likely to peel.

Our Process

Wax impregnation is a crucial step in producing waxed waterproof cartons, as we've already mentioned when introducing the product's basic features. Other processes are also crucial for producing high-quality waxed cartons, the first of which is cardboard pretreatment. On Yilida's production line, all base cardboard undergoes high-temperature shaping and moisture-proofing pretreatment. This means that our cartons not only provide waterproofing through the wax layer itself, but also possess inherent moisture resistance.

Next comes the wax coating process. The wax is treated, biodegradable, recyclable, and meets FDA edible standards, as this carton is primarily used for transporting fresh food.

Q: Can waxed cartons be stored long-term?

A: Yes, but please note that for long-term storage, the environment should be dry and well-ventilated, and please do not stack the boxes for more than 10 layers high. If stored in a hot area, or in summer time, it is best to keep the temperature below 35°C to prevent the wax from melting.

Q: Will custom printing on waxed cartons affect the performance of the wax layer?

A: Yilida uses a "print first, then wax" process. After pre-treating the cardboard, UV digital printing is performed before the wax coating is applied. This process not only does not cover the printed content, but also protects the printed pattern from fading and wear, and does not affect the waterproof properties of the wax layer.
